Master of Music (M. Mus.)
Concept
The Master’s degree in Music Theatre / Opera Performance teaches the practical and theoretical skills that are required to become a professional opera singer, with the main emphasis laid on developing the singing and acting personality.
The course at the Theatre Academy August Everding contains the following:
- Project work
- Musical ensemble work
- Studies of specific roles / répétiteur studies
- Scenic-musical performance
- Scenic aria work
- Audition training
- Body work
- Stage movement (standard dances, flamenco, fencing, aikido etc.)
- Speech/speaking dialogues
- Phonetics/foreign languages
- Opera history/analysis of works
- Role dramaturgy/analysis of roles
- Professionalisation (stage law / self-management / self-marketing)
- Music theatre productions directed by renowned musicians and accompanied by well-known orchestras
- Workshops and master classes at the European Network of Opera Academies (ENOA)
- Cooperation with the Bavarian State Theatres
- Cooperation with students of other disciplines, especially Directing, Dramaturgy and Musical
