Details of the Großes Haus

General information

The ambulatories with the checkrooms as well as the west and east foyers with their elaborate, differently designed ceiling paintings already put the audience in the right mood for the cultural experience in the Prinzregententheater. Permanently installed screens in the checkroom area can display information about your event.

The auditorium, with its unusual architecture and classicist decorative elements, provides the appropriate setting for your event. The auditorium, which rises like an amphitheater, impresses with its excellent acoustics and guarantees the best view from every seat. It has 1080 seats, 45 of them in five boxes located on the back wall, as well as four wheelchair spaces. Additional seating of up to 105 is also possible in the raised orchestra pit.

The stage of the Prinzregententheater is highly variable and can be used for a wide variety of events. The proscenium stage is particularly suitable for company presentations, lectures, readings, chamber concerts and recitals, while the main stage is used for orchestra and choir concerts, music or dance theater, and award ceremonies.

For performances with orchestra, the proscenium can be steplessly lowered and becomes an orchestra pit for up to 95 musicians.
For concerts with larger ensembles, such as symphony or choral concerts, a variable concert room is available. For further information on the concert room, please contact the Technical Directorate:
